Article 370 buried in ‘kabristan’, no power in world can restore it: Modi | Mumbai news

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said Article 370, which was a contentious issue for decades, was duly buried in the ‘kabristan’ under his leadership and no power in the world can revoke it. “I ensured that the barrier that came between Article 370 was buried in ‘kabristan,” Modi said, adding, “no one ever imagined that abrogation of Article 370 was possible”.

Declares that the INDIA bloc’s pledge to revoke repeal of Article 370 has been done by keeping “vote jihad” in view, the Prime Minister said that it is the same INDIA block which has come out with a false narrative of threats to the Indian constitution to mislead the people. “But if anyone ever gave the Constitution its rightful place and protection, it was done by the Modi government,” the Prime Minister asserted.

Addressing a poll rally at the historic Shivaji Park here, Modi warned people against the insidious design of the INDIA bloc, which he said has targeted temple gold, women’s mangalsutras and 50 percent inheritance tax. He said the Congress-led INDIA front is speaking Pakistan’s language and giving a clean mouth to terrorist Ajmal Kasab, who attacked Mumbai.

With polling on 13 seats in Maharashtra, including six in Mumbai, on May 20, Modi took center stage to assure Mumbaikars that his government’s resolve is to transform the financial capital complete with modern infrastructure and high-class amenities, reiterating , that the first Bullet train will start from Mumbai.

“Mumbai has a huge role to play in 2047 Viksit Bharat,” he said. “Mumbai is not just a city of dreams, but dreams that have come true. Who knows the meaning of speed better than Mumbaikars. I have come to restore Mumbai’s rights,” he added. “From Atal Setu, Metro to Coastal Road , Navi Mumbai Airport et al. are projects which have given Mumbai a complete makeover.”

Festive offer

Interestingly, Mumbai saw two rallies on Friday. While the NDA rally took place at Shivaji Park, the INDIA bloc held its rally at BKC.

“The Congress is fighting a battle for its survival. They will stoop to any low to achieve their goals. Unke irade khatarnak hain (They have dangerous intentions),” he warned.

“Congress has gone to the extent of questioning the surgical strike carried out by our army. At a time when nobody is worried about Pakistan, it is they (Congress) who are speaking their language,” he said.

He also warned that the ‘Maoist’ agenda of the Congress will leave the country bleeding economically. They were pessimistic about Ram temple and questioned the construction of the temple which has become a reality of our government, he said.

“The Ram temple will be counted in the world as the unwavering determination of a nation and its people who relentlessly pursued it for 500 years. The magnificent temple in Ayodhya is now a testimony of our determination to fulfill the promises made and fulfilled. But even here the INDIA front has raised questions and made all sorts of allegations,” he said.

Referring to the opposition’s campaign on the constitution, Modi said: “When the Indian constitution was finalised, there was a cover depicting the long cherished 1,000 years of Indian culture. But the artwork was set aside by the then Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. And now traveling they (Congress) the case of the threat to the Constitution.”

Modi said that over the last 10 years, his government has made every effort to preserve and protect the Constitution. “We take inspiration from Chaitya Bhoomi in Dadar. We have always revered Veer Savarkar and Bal Thackeray.”

“I challenge the NCP leader in the INDIA bloc to write from the Congress that they will never speak against Savarkar. I am confident that they will never do that,” he said.

He said that when he inherited power from the UPA in 2014, India ranked eleventh in economic power globally. “In 10 years, we will be in fifth place. In the next five years, we will be third in economic power. In mobile manufacturing, we will be the second largest in the world. From technology to textiles, talent to tourism, sports to space, we have made great progress .Out of 1.25 lakh startups, Mumbai alone accounts for 8,000,” he said.
