The day-to-day manager of Puerto Rico Brewery (CCPR), Maribel Montes, announced this Saturday the launch of a limited edition of Indian beeras part of the celebration of its 85th anniversary.
Montes hinted that this exclusive variant of the beer also seeks to pay tribute to the baseball team The Indians of Mayagüez. The product will be available in a commemorative box of 12 bottles of 12 with the tagline “Sendo Double: 85 years with two classics”.
“Inspired by the vision of Alfonso Valdeswho created Los Indios 85 years ago and in the same year was one of the co-founders of Cervecera de Puerto Rico, together with his brothers Ramón and Sabino Valdés, we have remained committed to supporting the team, which is undoubtedly an institution in the Puerto Rican national sport. Cerveza India was the first beer that Cervecera de Puerto Rico launched on the market in 1938. and its success motivated the name change to Cervecería India, which remained for years until the original name was resumed.
“Memorial boxes will only be available at Mr. Specialty in the western area. Likewise, they will be sold individually in the Indians Park – Isidro “Cholo” García Stadium – throughout the season, so it is an opportunity for people from all over the island and abroad to visit our region, celebrate with us and support our team” he explained.
