ACN Barcelona – The government denies that it is working on a new decree on low emissions outside the municipalities, as reported by Arc Metropolità, and expresses “surprise” at the complaints of some councils, which it attributes to a “policy of maneuver”. This is how the Director General for Environmental Quality and Climate Change, Mireia Boya, said in statements to ACN and TV3 that what is actually on the table are common minimum requirements that municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitants must next year reduce emissions and comply with national and European regulations. Boya states that the minimum requirements are the result of joint work over the last three years with the Catalan councils of more than 50,000 inhabitants.
