Tarragona, Oct 24 (EFE).- The movement of goods in the Port of Tarragona has grown by 17.9% during the month of September 2023 compared to the same month in 2022, thanks to having moved 2.62 million tons.
The cumulative figure for the first nine months of the year has already reached 24 million tonnes, an increase of 6.5% compared to the same period last year.
Agricultural foods are some of those that have grown the most, led mainly by grains and their flours.
Although every third ton of wheat, corn and barley arrives from Ukraine, the trend has been positive for several months.
The product with the most movements in the Port of Tarragona has been bulk liquid, which in September reached 1.67 million tons and in the year’s accumulated volume it has already added more than 15 million.
During September, crude oil grew by 7.3% compared to the same month in 2022, fuel oil by 151% and diesel by 344%.
Building products have also seen an increase of 182%, with asphalt being the protagonist of this growth as it has represented 46% of these movements.
In terms of the trucks that have circulated through the port, the facility has seen its best month of September, and its annual total has already reached 709,177 movements of these vehicles. EFE
