In a statement, UNRWA Gaza Affairs Director Thomas Whiteindicated that “this is a worrying sign that civil order is collapsing after three weeks of war and a strict siege in Gaza.”

“People are scared, frustrated and desperate. The tension and fear is exacerbated by the disconnection of telephone and internet communication lines. They feel alone, cut off from their families inside. Gaza and the rest of the world,” he lamented.

UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, expressed his concern. “The situation in Gaza is becoming more and more desperate, hour by hour. I regret that instead of a badly needed humanitarian pause, supported by the international community, Israel has intensified its military operations,” Guterres declared during a visit to the capital, Kathmandu. from Nepal.

UNRWA highlighted in its note that the massive displacement of people from north to south of the Strip has put “enormous pressure” on communities in the south, adding further burden to already deteriorating public services.

However, this aid is insufficient when you consider that before the war there were hundreds of aid trucks passing through daily.

UNRWA is currently managing the reception and storage of this aid in the Palestinian enclave and indicated that no convoy could enter on Saturday due to the telecommunications failure.
