Turismo Costa del Sol, in collaboration with Turismo Andaluz and Turespaña, with the aim of strengthening Costa del Sol’s position in new markets of particular interest for tourism in the province of Malaga, has participated in two important sales promotion actions in China and India.
The CEO of Costa del Sol Tourism, Margarita del Cid, has indicated that “both actions are part of the goal of promoting the resources that our destination offers to travelers interested in exclusive experiences and oriented towards luxury tourism, which are at a high strategic level. segments because of their capacity for seasonality”.
“Both are markets where we had worked before the pandemic, especially India, and where we will continue to work in 2024, with actions already included in our action plan,” Del Cid added.
Turismo Costa del Sol has thus participated with Turismo Andaluz in the ITB China fair in Shanghai, which has allowed it to maintain contact with professionals from the Chinese tourism industry with an intense agenda of thirty appointments, in the sector’s first major event since the pandemic.
Del Cid highlighted that “although the Chinese market has traditionally been characterized as emerging, it is one of the most interesting for our destination since its recent opening, with a forecast of 15 weekly flights to Spain by the end of the year.”
At this time, he added that Chinese tourists are characterized by their high purchasing power and their ability to adapt to the season, in addition to having a good relationship with the Andalusian market.
In addition to participating in ITB China, Turismo Costa del Sol has also been present in the two events organized by Turismo Andaluz in Shanghai and Beijing, where the new features of the presentation and dinner format with the participation of a hundred tourism professionals Costa del Sol were presented to the new season, Turismo Costa del Sol said in a statement.
Del Cid has highlighted the “importance” of this type of initiative since, in his words, they “facilitate the marketing of the offer of a destination like the Costa del Sol, which offers many opportunities for all types of travelers, also for demanding profiles events, which can be enjoyed all year round thanks to our unrivaled climate. Likewise, Turismo Costa del Sol has taken part in the conferences organized by the Spanish office in Mumbai, The Spanish Travel Experience, which have taken place in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. 150 tourism professionals from the country have participated in these sessions and a hundred appointments and presentations of the destination are planned to show the latest developments in Malaga province.
